UPDATE AS OF MARCH 14--WE STILL NEED HELP WITH FUNDS FOR THE SURGERY BILL
UPDATE AS OF MARCH 14, 2012: King is doing really well in his foster home. He gets along great with cats, small dogs and people. He has not been allowed aroung bigger dogs yet, since he can't play. We are still in need of help with the surgery bill. The surgeon is being very nice about me not paying her yet since she knows this was sprung on us out of the blue. If you could please see it in your heart to help us out with this bill, it would be greatly appreciated. All donations are Tax Deductable since we are a 501c3 (TAX ID #: 41-2223388). So far we have raised $380, but since the chipin ended, I have to start a new one which is showing the difference in what we've already raised. Thank you for any help you can give

UPDATE AS OF MARCH 11, 2012--THE ER MONEY WAS RAISED, NOW WE STILL NEED HELP WITH THE SURGERY BILL
UPDATE AS OF MARCH 11, 2012: Because of a nice lady, we had the money to get King out of the ER last night. He went to his foster home and so far things are going well. He is on crate rest for 12 weeks, but is allowed out to go potty and stretch his leg, the other leg he can't stretch or it will screw up the surgery. He seems to be fine with cats when on leash, in time we'll see how he does off leash with them once he gets settle in and feels a little bit better. He hasn't been around the other dogs yet, but that will happen soon enough. We are still in desperate need of help with the surgery bill. What was paid last night was only the ER part of the bill, that was not expected. Thank you to all that have donated, reposted and prayed. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization (Tax ID: 41-2223388) so all donations are Tax Deductable. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed. Thank you

UPDATE AS OF MARCH 10, 2012--THE ER ADDED THEIR OWN BILL ON TO OUR TOTAL DUE
UPDATE AS OF MARCH 10, 2012: King is ready to come out of the hospital tonight. His 4 day legal hold is over as of 8pm, so his ex owners (the people that abandoned him at the Pet ER) have no chance of reclaiming him at all. We have a major problem though. We still haven't raised enough to pay the surgery bill, and now the ER is adding on boarding, xrays, deworming, and exam fees which total $457, in addition to the $2500 needed to pay for the surgery. The $457 HAS to be paid tonight in order to get King our of the hospital, otherwise Animal Control will take possession of him. Can anyone help????? Thank you to all that have donated, but we have a lot more that is still needed. This dog is NOT safe until he is out of the hospital. If you'd like to help with the ER bill, $457, you can call that into the ER at 410-788-7040. Tell them it's for King. We are a 501 3, so all donations are tax deductable

UPDATE AS OF MARCH 7, 2012--KING HAD HIS SURGERY
UPDATE AS OF MARCH 7, 2012: King had his surgery and was out of the OR around 3pm. I spoke with the surgeon as they were taking him out and she said surgery went very well. King was also neutered while in surgery. I went to visit him around 7pm and he was still kinda out of it, but was coherent. And yes, as the whole hospital had said, he is the sweetest dog. He's on lots of pain pills now, he'll be needing them.
Now that surgery is over, here's the hard part, we need to pay the bill. If you could see it in your heart to donate any amount you can afford towards Kings bill, it would be greatly appreciated. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, so all donations are tax deductable. Thank you to everyone that has donated or reposted.

MARCH 7--ABANDONED AT THE PET ER WITH A BROKEN FEMUR, KING NEEDS SURGERY
On March 6, 2012 at 9:45 pm I was contacted by the Pet ER about a Pitbull that was brought in by it's owners because he jumped out a window. The ER examined the dog and did xrays on him. It turns out King, the Pitbull dog, has a broken femur that is broken in 2 pieces. When the ER went to bill the family, they stated "we have to go to the car to get out wallet". The ER never saw the owners again. The ER then called the owners, but they stated over the phone "we don't know any dogs named King". That now left King abandoned and in pain with nobody to help him.
The ER contacted me asking if I could take him into rescue otherwise the administative director would have to call animal control to come pick King up, which would have either ended up in his death, or him sitting in a kennel in pain waiting for the animal control to decide what to do with him. I agreed to take King into rescue
This morning, Mar 7, 2012, the administrative director of the ER contacted me and said he had called AC and told them he had a rescue willing to take King into rescue and pay for surgery. AC agreed to this, only if King could stay at the hospital for the 4 day hold and since rescue accepted all responsibility for the bill. The director of the ER spoke with the surgeon and King is scheduled for surgery this afternoon to fix, repair, plate or whatever they do to a broken femur. This bill is going to be $2500. While under for surgery, the surgeon will also neuter King for us.
We are in need of help with this bill ASAP since surgery is today and the surgeon has to be paid. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization, so all donations are Tax Deductable. Any amount is helpful and no donation is to small. Thank you for anyhelp you can give.
